Federal

For the past 40 years,Telefilm Canada has been an essential federal cultural agency dedicated to the development and promotion of the Canadian audiovisual industry. Their support of this year’s Festival allows us to effectively promote and celebrate Canadian film, as well as offer industrial professional-development programmes for Canadian filmmakers.

Telefilm is also a cultural investor in cinema, television and new media. This year’s Canadian film selection will include a number of films that were made possible with Telefilm’s financial participation. Check back here for more updates!

Canadas Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) works to achieve increased economic opportunity and enhanced security for Canadians at home and abroad. With their assistance, TIFF is able to invite industry delegates from abroad for the purpose of promoting Canadian films to an international market. DFAIT is also an important partner in this years Canadian Music Café.

Canadian Heritage works with partners across the country to promote culture, the arts, heritage, official languages, citizenship and participation, multiculturalism, Aboriginal, youth and sport initiatives. They support the Festival through Telefilm Canada, and assist with professional-development and networking opportunities that prepare Canadian filmmakers for the international market through the Trade Routes Contribution Program.

The mission of Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) is to build a stronger and more competitive Canada, to support Canadians in making choices that help them live productive and rewarding lives and to improve Canadians’ quality of life.
