When Fiona’s (Julie Christie) memory starts to deteriorate, her husband Grant (Gordon Pinsent) must move her to a rest home. Distressed by the intimate relationship she strikes up with fellow patient, Aubrey (Michael Murphy), Grant gradually comes to seek solace from Aubrey’s wife, Marian (Olympia Dukakis,) in this poignant adaptation of the Alice Munro story.

Sarah Polley was born in Toronto and is an acclaimed actor. She directed several short films before making her feature directorial debut with Away from Her (06).
