Tutti Matti (translates to" everybody is crazy" in Italian) opened in November 2002 and since then has been the singular bastion of Tuscan food in Toronto. The restaurant was awarded the prestigious Leccio d’Oro in 2009 by the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino, previous recipients were Mario Batali and other Michelin starred restaurants. Chef owner Alida Solomon after graduating from George Brown worked in Montalcino for seven years then returned home with the goal to bring the traditional simple Tuscan cuisine to Toronto.
