Brian Stockton was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, and studied film production at the University of Regina and York University. His short films include The 24 Store (90), The Weight of the World (94), The Blob Thing (01), Saskatchewan (02), Saskatchewan Part 2 (03), Saskatchewan Part 3 (06) and Whitmore Park (08).
